Hot August Nights!

The summertime keeps cooking as the boys of Platinum keep the heat on with three more big classic rock shows in Southern California!

August appearances include the Cerritos Summer Concert Series on Thursday, August 4th in Cerritos, CA. (Please note, there is no website for this one that we know of, but the address is 18600 Bloomfield Avenue, Cerritos, CA 90703, if you wanna mail them a letter!) Showtime for this event is 7pm and admission is FREE!

The week finishes off with a very special charity event on Saturday, August 6th for Team Godfather Charities at our favorite haunt, the beautiful Belly Up Tavern in San Diego, CA.This is a charity event for ALS research and is open to the public. Rock Party! (our four-piece classic dance rock act, featuring vocalist David Victor, drummer Glenn Jost, lead guitarist Roby Duron and special guest Manny Aguirre on bass!) will keep the masses dancing.

The boys take a couple of weeks of vacation (though they’re most certainly not resting on their laurels–some big new musical happenings are in the works!) and then reappear to wrap up hot August nights in beautiful Santa Fe Springs on Friday, August 27th @ 7pm.

San Diego Demands Platinum!

The Platinum Rockstars have made San Diego their second home, following their first sold-out show at the Belly Up back in March. Over 800 rock lovers enjoyed the greatest hits of the 70s and 80s and demanded a speedy return. Always happy to return to the scene of the party, the boys of Platinum will re-rock the Belly Up on June 4th, 2011.

This time, the Platinum Rockstars are bringing a secret weapon: original guitarist Al Estrada will make a guest appearance as Eddie Van Halen. If you’ve never seen Al, you are missing the most spot-on EVH impersonation of all-time, right down to the custom tailored outfit and Variac’d boutique-wired Marshall head. Al’s chops are ridiculous, even his mistakes (if you’re fortunate enough to hear him make any!) sound like Eddie making mistakes.

Joining Al Estrada is Platinum Rockstars’ own amazing guitarist Roby Duron, recent winner of Guitar Center’s “King Of The Blues” semi-finals. This one-two punch of guitar heroes is sure to leave San Diego Platinum Rockstars friends begging for more. We’ll see you at the Big Show!

Hello Again, San Diego!

The Platinum Rockstars rolled into the San Diego area on Saturday, February 20th at the Belly Up Tavern in beautiful Solana Beach, CA. This show was their first back in the San Diego area since October 2009 and was an amazing success, with 450+ attending at the band’s first visit to the Belly Up.

The Belly Up is a beautiful live music venue and plenty of live music was on tap with Damn The Torpedoes, an amazing Tom Petty tribute act kicking off the show. DJ Man Cat kept the night interesting with the Jaegermeister Girls taking the stage between the Platinum Rockstars sets.

Our thanks to Beau and the whole staff at the Belly Up for helping us make the Platinum Rockstars debut there an amazing success!

Platinum Rockstars appeared at the Anaheim House Of Blues at the JACK-FM postgame extravaganza on Sunday, February 7th, immediately following the game.

Our good friend Mr. Chuck Wright, platinum rock star in his own right (Quiet Riot, Alice Cooper, House Of Lords) as well as Platinum Rockstars’ own Al Estrada were once again displaying their amazing musical chops in the greatest classic rock superstar show in LA!

Platinum Rockstars at the Pier

The Fiesta Hermosa at the Hermosa Beach Pier hosts the Platinum Rockstars Superstar Show

The Platinum Rockstars Classic Rock Superstar Show hits the Fiesta Hermosa at the Hermosa Beach Pier on Sunday, September 6th at 3pm on the main stage. This 3-hour outdoor and free rock ‘n roll extravaganza will feature tributes to Boston, Journey, Van Halen, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi — and a final tribute to one of classic rock’s most beloved groups: Foreigner.

The Fiesta is always a good time with plenty of sun, surf, food, drinks and good Southern California beach vibes on the pier. Be sure to get there early as seating is limited! Please see the festival website for complete details on directions and parking and we’ll see you at the Fiesta!

R.I.P. Les Paul

The Platinum Rockstars would like to express our sadness at the passing of the greatest guitar innovator of all time: Mr. Les Paul. His guitars powered nearly all of the greatest rock music ever recorded. He was a pioneer of both guitar design and multi-track recording and a fantastic guitar player to boot. Les, you will be missed!
